It’s seems everywhere you go today, you can find adult coloring books. I can remember as a child, my favorite Aunt used to love to sit with me and color. She was always doodling, while talking on the phone or just sitting around enjoying an afternoon cup of tea. Always graphically depicting her thoughts and ideas on napkins, junk mail, notebook paper, you name it. She’s been gone almost 20 years now, but I can still recall her love of coloring. Today I would call it expressing her creative potential, but back then she was just my fun loving Aunt that always had a picture or drawing to show me.
I’ve scheduled my dissertation defense for the end of next month, and I will officially move to the ranks of the Completed! With the bulk of my work finished, lately I’ve had some time to believe it or not sit and ponder.
If I created a space where adults could meet to color, would they come? I’m looking for something fun to absorb myself in before I return to my full time job search. Could I possibly organize and host an adult coloring session? And thinking of my Aunt, how about an adult coloring session for seniors? I live at the Jersey Shore, and there are several 55 and older communities. I think I may just contact a few and see if they might be interested in my hosting a coloring session.
How much fun would that be?
